Once again, the dedication and efforts of the Riera family have been rewarded with a Silver Medal in the 20th edition of Ecoracimo, the International Organic Wine Contest, which took place in Castillo de Montilla (Cordoba). The award winning wine was its white Ereso 2018, produced with the indigenous grape variety Malvasía, Grec, fermented in barrels with a further ageing of three months. It is an aromatic, mellow, full-bodied and persistent wine. Can Rich is a 100% Ibizan winery, which has always hedged its bets on quality and proudly earned the geographical indication Vinos de la Tierra de Ibiza a place on the global wine map. Can Rich only uses its own grapes for producing its wines, which guarantees an exhaustive control and monitoring of the entire process, fundamental for obtaining quality wines. In 2018 it expanded its vineyards at the Can Llaudis estate, in the Ses Salines Natural Park, with 2.5 hectares of the white Moscat grape variety. Malvasía grapes are grown at Can Llaudis, which are used for producing its Espumoso Blanco (sparkling white), following the traditional method of Ibiza and Formentera. Apart from its famous wines, the Can Rich winery also produces other quality products such as vermouth, Café Caleta (a brandy and coffee liqueur), extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salts. Its Ibizan herbs (an aniseed-flavoured spirit drink) are also award-winning; having gained the Bronze Medal at the International Wine & Spirit Contest in Hong Kong, in which it competed against drinks from all over the world. Can Rich launched its Ibizan Herbs onto the market ten years ago, producing it in the traditional, artisan way. It is made from wild herbs and complies with IGP regulations. It is a natural manufacturing process, which applies to all the product produced at the Buscastell winery. Tradition, modernity and respect for nature all come together at Can Rich, – three essential factor that not only provide the wines with personality, but endow them with the singular reflection of Ibiza’s climate and land.
