Organic produce and local cuisine in Ca la Calma

What is a Calm Club? It’s a concept designed by Jesús and Vicent Cardona Roig. They were both fed up with the hectic pace and loud music. On the contrary, they were passionate about returning to the real source, to the Ibiza of yesteryear. Lovers of organic produce, the sound of the sea, relaxing music and slow food, they both decided to realise their dream at Cala de Sant Vicent, one of the favourite spots of Ibicencos. That’s where they launched Ca la Calma, their restaurant specialised in Mediterranean and Ibizan cuisine, and the first Calm Club in Ibiza.

This charming place, where you can relax over a tasty, healthy meal while you enjoy a conversation, or just soak up the scenery, opens from Tuesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner, and once the sun has set you can have a drink and listen to the chill-out music. Ca la Calma serves a breakfast of freshly pressed organic fruits and also sells organic produce from the estate Vicent and Jesús own in Santa Gertrudis. They have a plantation of over a thousand olive trees, which are used for producing the extra virgin olive oil used in the restaurant. Another essential ingredient on the menu at Ca la Calma is the fish, which is sourced directly from the local fishermen who still fish in llaüts, traditional Balearic Island fishing boats.

The promotion of sustainable fish is one of the goals of this project, and something that is clearly reflected on the menu, along with native or grass-fed beef from Northern Spain, where the animals ingest the salt that condenses on the plants, giving the meat an extraordinary flavour.
